A victim of multiple strokes here has gained back much feeling [many years after the strokes] by applying a [pieso] barbecue igniter [aka electric 'stick pins in the skin' treatment?..uh..oh yea, Acupuncture ] to the numb parts. The very brief high voltage electrical shocks seemed to be playing a game of "Marco Polo" with the brain to find or form another routing pattern.
..like sending up a flare to attract contact after the phones go out.

It seemed to also work on an old guy in Chapel Hill who had stroke that paralyzed his right arm. He was back to playing his weird Turkish stringed instrument thingie in a couple of weeks.

Hi Hanneke...

The best thing the lady can do is exercise, exercise, exercise. They have found that if a stroke patient will constantly exercise the effected limbs...same with speech...new nerve pathways will develope and bypass the damaged area of the brain basically rewiring it. There have been some patients who have recovered much use of their effected limbs 10-15 years after the stroke with exercise.

It's very hard but in 2 weeks time the results will be amazing.
