Do you really need zoom lenses? The f numbers are too high on both lenses for my liking. My personal preference would be a 35mm f/1.8 and a 105mm f/2 micro nikkor with a 1.4x teleconverter. The 1.4x (or even 2x) converter will be great for wildlife/sports photography because you can still open your aperture as wide as f/4. Have you looked at the 18-200 VR? I don't love the lens, but it is good enough in most cases. It covers your entire range and has comparable f numbers to the two lenses you mentioned.
