Hi Luci,

Contactable (@becontactable) is very similar to Bump, Cardflick & Cardmunch
in its basic functionality. The basic feature set allows you to transfer
your contact details to another person very quickly using your smartphone.

The advantage of all apps in this category is that they allow the person
you've connected with to always have your latest contact details with you
(even if they've moved roles or workplaces etc).

Bump and Cardmunch are generally showcases for their platform (Bump and
LinkedIn) - whereas we are hoping to really focus on the act of meeting
people at social/professional events.

We've been doing a bit of research on the problems that people come across
when they encounter someone new:

   - Getting a sense of the person's breadth of experience
   - What are their interests?
   - Who else do they know?
   - Where are our interests aligned?
   - Can I trust them?
   - Do other people trust them?
   - Should I do business with this person?

We're working on a prototype for the iPhone, which is still a few months
away. Once that's ready, we would love to get everyone's feedback and work
out our product/market fit.

If you're interested in learning more, please feel free to drop me a line
off list at: sh...@shaon.net.

Cheers,
Shaon
