Yup, the plan is to use the pre-prod box to host our VMs. Currently
we've got an Linux VM Image with 256MB RAM running on our desktops but
now we're thinking of having something running 24/7 that we can all
have our git repositories on, run tests, login remotely, etc. All our
code is written in Objective-C (Mac/iPhone side) and django/python
(web side).

As for scaling, we'd considering the Amazon AWS path or an alternative
provider like Mosso. Our app isn't a facebook app and as much as I'd
love to have 100K users in days or being slashdotted/dugg to death - I
can't see that happening immediately while the word is still getting
out (at least for a few months)?

We are trying to be as pragmatic as possible and save enough money to
at least have one meal of rice + tomato sauce per day - maybe drink
some milk if we're lucky :-) At the same time, we don't want to
disappoint those that use our app - so we've tried writing code with
scalability in mind and have contingency plans for any massive
increase in traffic.
