If you are a consultant working alone, why don't you borrow some thinking
from the industrial age: that being, creating a firm so as to minimise the
costs of transactions that you would otherwise incur alone.
As you spend your time
1) Finding work
2) Admin
3) Doing work

...why not create a loose collective to economise on the admin and finding?
Cross promotion of each other? Pooled resources on research?

Just a thought.
