Hi Juan
I'm following first step of SGE from GUI Installer & getting error: Admin user
missing (from all added node, network is reachable)

# yum install gridengine*
# cd /opt/
# chown -R sgeadmin:sgeadmin sge
# ./start_gui_installer
# Administrator : sgeadmin
Following step on GUI and getting above error. Can you please help here.

Thanks & Regards
Yasir Israr

No, we are still on 8.1.8. We are going to transition to Univa GridEngine on my
cluster soon. We already did so on another cluster at our campus.

I doubt you will have any problems. Both 8.1.9 and Centos 7.3 are minor
updates. The differences are not so radical that you will face significant
challenges.

I don’t use NIS so unfortunately I cannot answer that question. Perhaps
someone else can.

For Cluster centralize user management I'm using NIS.

Will NIS work fine with SGE ?

I am running SGE on nodes with both 7.1 and 7.3. Works fine on both.

Just make sure that if you are using Active Directory/Kerberos for
authentication and authorization, your DC’s are capable of handling a lot of
traffic/requests. If not, things like DRMAA will uncover any shortcomings.

Thread is not clearing that is SGE is fully supported with Centos
7.3 or not.

Do anyone have implemented SGE on Centos 7.3 successfully without
any issue.

I installed SGE on Centos 7 back in January this year. If my
recolection is correct, the procedure was analogous to the instructions for
Centos 6. There were some issues with the firewalld service (make sure that it
is not blocking SGE), as well as some issues with SSL.
