We took a couple last minor bugs to WiX v3.5 yesterday and the new build is
out today. If things are as good as we think (hope) they are, that
v3.5.2519.0 could be the final WiX v3.5 build. Please, download and try it
out.

What do you want to harvest from a .wixlib? Via a project reference, the
.wixlib is automatically added to the light.exe command-line.

The MajorUpgrade element was only introduced in v3.5, are you sure you
have the latest version? I use this AllowSameVersionUpgrades="yes" in my
installs without a problem - other than being flamed here :-) I would
use this in preference to the upgrade table entries as it is easier but

Hello all,
I have a simple problem with WIX 3.0 but I just can't solve it. I have a
feature "feWIA" and I wish to set a property to "1" when it is selected to be
installed. I've tried just about every combination I can think of but they
always result in the property being set incorrectly when i

Sorry about the wait, this tends to be a rare issue... but I did get a log.
In this case, it isn't the driver package that is causing the error, but it is

Hi,
Using build 3.6.1308.0 I came across a problem today where I wanted to use
heat on a reference project but the difference this time was to set it up on
a wix library which would be consumed later. What I noticed that it would
not run heat even when requested if the project type was a wix libra

In other words, I can't do this:

Thank you for the information. I am new and in my shop, I have to be a
jack-of-all trades, but master of none. I would like to learn more on how to
create installers, upgrades and patches. Where is a good place to learn all of
the terminology and the different options?
Thank you,
Brian

I want to allow same version upgrades to take care of the fourth element in

According to

As stated before, when a user skips your UI for an *install*, they won't
get the concurrent installations because your tool is skipped which is
the same problem you're seeing with uninstall.

Hi Maksim,
Thanks for updating me.
I had also tried to put uninstall CustomAction in InstallExecuteSequence , but
that does not work in my case.
What I am doing in Custom Action is to run a tool that will uninstall some
child MSIs.
So when Custom Action executes on uninstall my tool fails to u
Hello Pally,
Thanks for the point.
Actually I am installing some child MSIs from an tool and invoked this tool via
Cuatom Action sequenced in InstallUISequence.
So this works fine as it happens in full UI mode.
Now during uninstall I am calling same tool via Custom Action but that doesn't
work.

you don't trip up in situations like this.
