p.s.: I would never have had this trouble if I didn't start out with
installing the unofficial debian-qmail packages...
debian is OK, but in this case it took me hours, because of
path-definitions !!!

maybe the paths in zour config.h are wrong, delete the file, run
configure again, make make install-strip, and maybe it's OK then.
this can be the solution when you are moving around a lot with paths,

Just looking at your site and had to reply back with comments on #1.
First off, most people I know running vpopmail/qmail have an existing
server of some sort. They don't 'have' to run linux. Our installs never
have virtual users (vppopmail) with real system accounts. Hence the name
VIRTUA

this only seems to happen when there are several thousand messages in the
email account. however, the user is well within quota.

All the -D flag does is telling the tcpserver not to delay sending data, so
I can't imagine why it becomes a problem when stopping the tcpserver.

If I set a password for a pop user in vpopmail to password and then
password1, it still allows access for password. I assume then that there is
a character limit of 8 chars. Can this be modified?

Strangely enough deleting a moderator and changing a moderator seem to work

rather than

?

but i'm a continuous subscriber for a long time, and i don't recall seeing

We had to disable the autoresponder and then reenable it again in order
to get the mail to go through. Anyone have anything to add to this. Is
