SMTP works. If it was sent with a MUA, your MUA is broken.
You do not have a user with the mail address

on your machine.

with virtual domains sometimes.

Yes, .qmail-default is uset to deliver to the Maildir directly,
"emulating" a .qmail-USERNAME file... So if you take away .qmail-default,
you'll be in trouble...

Hmm. Something went wrong somewhere. Try 'su -- vpopmail' and creating the
domain after that.
Did you use the -R option in chown?
Are the old domains also in /home/vpopmail/domains/ ?

b) Have you checked the permissions on all directories?
c) Do you use Bruce G's rpms for qmail?
d) What does the domains' .qmail-default file contain?

Yes, you need to restart qmail. If you have Linux,
killall -HUP qmail-send
will do what you want.
You may also need to edit the mrtg config file if 20 is given as a hard
upper limit...
