You mean you installed OpenOffice with their DEBS, aren't you?
After you uninstalled LibreOffice with:
sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
I also did a fresh start and "new file" in CALC, no crash...

Yes, I did, and then I installed LibreOffice with their DEBS. I tested the
same thing in LibreOffice 4.2.6

specifically which OSX version you have installed.
