Hi everyone,
I was looking for a recent 2.6.19 guest kernel patch with skas3 on
blaisorblade's website. I found a host patch, but no guest patch. What I found
were two 2.6.19 guest kernels with skas on other websites.
Can anyone tell my how to compile a 2.6.19 guest kernel without a 2.6.19

Hi,
I try to setup a kind of rescue console for a few users of mine. As Jeff
described in the howto and in his book, there should be a simple setup of
connecting to uml instances with each other.
master_uml -> slave_uml
User connects via ssh to master_uml. The /etc/passwd there points to a scr
Hi,
I'm trying to run a x86_64 host system with a 32bit and/or a 64bit guest system.
Whilst applying the uml kernel patch -bb1 for the 2.6.18 kernel, I get the
following messages:

Hi,
thanks for the fast response about skas3 and chroot, the mount -bind indeed
works great!
I'm experiencing another problem, sadly. I don't get uml_mconsole running on
this instance.
I experimented with all kinds of uml_dir=/foo_bar settings and with invoking
the uml_mconsole with all kind
Hi,
I'm trying to start an uml instance in a chroot by either using Jeff Dike's
do-chroot or by using compartment.
For example, the following setup works fine:
Directory /home/chtest
./tmp
./kernel
./disk1
with a command line like this:
./do-chroot . 1004 ./kernel ubd0=/disk1 mem=96M uml_dir=
Hi,
I tried to compile a uml guest kernel on an AMD64 host. The compile itself was
without errors, but a simple startup seems to be impossible.
After invoking uml with a ubuntu server 64 image with
./linux ubd0=userv64_fs
the boot process commences from

Hi,
first of all: thanks to all of you, especially Blaisorblade for all the work
and for helping me in November with my devfs problem.
I'm playing around with 2.6 and 2.4 kernels, most of them work inspite of me
building them ;-)
Problem: I don't get the clue how to build an external module (li
Hi,
first of all: thanks to Blaisorblade for the answer to my (stupid)
devfs/device question some days ago. You're great!
I'm experimenting more with UML and I'm quite lucky about it, I just came
across severeal questions I'm really stuck with:
First of all, I'ld like to improve swap performance
Hi there,
I'm quite new to UML and I'm trying to setup a 3-instance machine on a small
single cpu pc.
Everything went fine so far, Kernels seem to be okay, but when the UML
client instance starts, the server boots until it gets stuck after showing
that the cron.d ist started. (I guess this is the
