Hi,

I'm trying to run a x86_64 host system with a 32bit and/or a 64bit guest system.

Whilst applying the uml kernel patch -bb1 for the 2.6.18 kernel, I get the
following messages:

->

After all that, the kernel compiles well and runs - but only in skas0 mode with
the following error on startup:

->
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# /home/test/vmlinux-2.6.18.1-64
ubd0=/home/test/Debian-3.1-AMD64-root_fs mem=64M con0=fd:0,fd:1

I tried the same with the kernels on Paolo's website, but I did not succeed in
starting a 64bit instance on a 64bit host in skas3 mode. My 32bit guest kernels
won't start on the 64bit host, either.

Could someone clarify the status of UML and SKAS3 on 64 bit hosts?

- Is it possible to run 32 bit guests on 64 bit hosts - in skas3? in skas0? how?

- Is it possible to run 64 bit guests on 64 bit hosts - in skas3?

- If a 64bit guest won't run in skas3, how much of a performance penalty do you
expect in running skas0 with a noptracefaultinfo set?

I tried to search the list for this information, but there was no sufficient
answer to me, sorry if this request is redundant in any kind.

Regards,
Karl
