Setting LCD brightness doesn't work on a MacBook Pro 1,1 using the
latest Karmic (updated this morning). XOrg recognizes the keys however

I am also experiencing this problem with lightdm 1.4 and lightdm-kde on
Arch Linux. Steps to reproduce:
1. Login as User1.
2. Start a new session as User2.
3. Switch back to User1.
4. Log out as User1.
5. Screen sits with blinking cursor. I can manually switch to User2
using FN + F8, or what-have
I've confirmed this happens on Fedora as well:
- splash screens are proper resolution on both monitor and internal LCD
- GDM starting puts the monitors into clone mode

The utopic HWE stack can't be installed without apt or synaptic wanting
to remove fglrx-updates.

I have the same issue and card and managed to get the latest nvidia
(beta) driver 319.17 running, however with no screen output in X.
Maarten, what do I need to do once your script spawns the shell? just
startx and kill the process or is there more to it? I would be glad to
provide the information

I recently switched from an HDD to an SSD. I installed a fresh Ubuntu
14.04.4 on the SSD. Everything works just fine, except the left button
randomly stops working *only in the work space*. It responds in opened
applications, just not on the top bar or the left application launch

OK, tried running the latest daily-live xenial. Tried opening several Firefox
windows and tabs with my Google Drive documents and other windows. No problem
after more than 30 minutes working. Suspend mode didn't cause the bug on
xenial. I couldn't try hibernate, of course, since I'm on
I'm still seeing this issue with a Logitech G700 with Linux Mint 17.3
(based on Ubuntu 14.04). I did not need Whitlock's patched evdev driver,
but adding Comment #4's xorg.conf work-around seems to have alleviated
this issue for me.
