It's not an error with fglrx. Your GPU (RadeonHD 3100) is no longer supported

I know someone who had the same problem on Ubuntu 12.10 (freh installation)
after installing fglrx[-updates], missing the Unity taskbar and
close/minimize/maximize buttons in windows (possibly the whole window
decoration).
I think his problem was fixed by installing the Linux kernel headers.

Cannot upgrade to 12.10 because on update it tells me i can experience
graphic problems. I've got an optimus pc, intel graphics with NVidia
GPU. Untill now i used the intel graphics without problems. I also tried
uninstalling bumblebee, but i suspect the problem has to do with some

@m-sigalas86: I notice that you are not using fglrx (does not support
your Evergreen graphics card). It's good.
@Rafał: I have tried that line and the whole screen highlights,
returning to the original brightness. I cannot change the default
brightness. I use 12.10 on the AMD 6230.

fglrx no longer supports your card. If you want to use fglrx, you will

I'm also affected by this problem. 6600M dual-gpu with i7. Can install
ati drivers, but then unity is broken - windows are withouth any borders
and buttons and you can switch windows / workspaces etc. Using open
source drivers keeps my discrete gpu spinning and overheating.

installer-12.6-legacy-x86.x86_64 is not a software package provided by
the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu project can
not support or fix your particular bug
I've this vga:
