Brendan Donegan of Canonical responded to the request I made to the
Ubuntu Hardware Certification Programme, acknowledged the problem and
said a T510 would be tested. At the very least, the problem will be
noted. Considering I don't pay for support, that's a pretty good
response!

I learned that the command '~$ gksu gnome-system-monitor' will show all
processes owned by root. So it shows Xorg as well. This is in contrast to
gnome-system-monitor's behaviour in Lucid and is not reflected in man 1
gnome-system-monitor.
man 1 gnome-system-monitor is of poor quality because
I just locked the screen and had an interesting time getting it unlocked
after it went completely white.
