synaptics module, and the uTouch framework.
The X synaptics module uses multitouch only for simple tasks like two
finger scrolling and two tap right click. There's no functionality in

The gnome session loaded from startup works well but if I change session
(logout and login)

Just adding my interest to this bug. I see there's been no movement
since June 2010 but I am still affected every day. I want to suspend my
poor little laptop who has now been running for about a year without a

You have to use NVIDIA's configuration tool, as the driver does not
support xrandr 1.2. So neither xrandr nor gnome-display-properties can
be used for setting this up.
Try seeing if that tool does it; if so this bug report should be duped
to the general "-nvidia lacks xrandr 1.2 support" bug.

The mirroring is by upstream's design. There's already a blueprint for
evaluating the monitor defaults.
The intended workflow by upstream is that the monitors initially be put
into a "safe" configuration, and then you configure them with gnome-
display-properties to create a ~/.config/monitors.xm

Natty Beta.
The situation is not better.
Unity desktop doesn't run on this computer.

Please reproduce on Classic Desktop (no effects).
There is no indication in the X or kernel logs that the GPU froze. I do
notice this though:
