Commit 49d2ccab2a8 looks most interesting - if you want to try patching
the -intel driver, I'd probably suggest starting with that.
I have attempted to build the newer -intel against maverick but it
didn't build cleanly. Would you guys consider that to be an adequate
fix?

[I'm dropping the natty tag because it's looking more and more like this
isn't needing work to be done in natty; if anyone can reproduce the
issue with both a natty kernel and natty userspace, feel free to re-add
the tag.]

Good to hear, thanks for confirming Ricco.
We're hoping to get the bits from that ppa into natty, but it depends on
us getting the new X input stack from xserver 1.10 which is not 100%
certain at this point.

Thanks Chase. It sounds like support on the open source has some
blockers, so for this bug report let's focus on the nwfermi driver.
@djp, thanks for posting the .debs. It appears this contains a GPL'd
kernel driver installable via dkms, and a closed binary nwfermi_daemon
which is invoked using
djp, you mentioned earlier an interest in posting this to a PPA. Do you
need help with this? Do you have a plan in place for how you want to be
distributing it to go into the PPA?
I think once that is sorted out, it would make it straightforward for us
to even consider incorporating this into mu
Yeah I think this is a dupe of bug #308191 as well. To confirm, please
install from the ppa:utouch-team/utouch PPA. If that solves it we can
dupe this bug to that one.

It works on my Lenovo U450p on 10.10, thanks a million!
However, the scrolling is somewhat inaccurate while it wasn't so with
the latest touchpad driver on Windows or with the script under Ubuntu
10.10 that I used so far. The scrolling sometimes seems to 'jump' back
in the opposite direction.
