I am running Lucid currently and observed the following bug: after
coming back from suspend the mouse pointer doesnt show up (but the
system reacts to mouse input-just the point isnt shown). After I switch
workspaces with strg+alt+arrow it appears again.

Fix released would be a wrong status , as the mesa bug hasnt been fixed.
I rolled back to test if the bug exists in the karmic version.

Nope, the name amd64 is there only for historical reasons. The

khenning, if you using Karmic and the nvidia 185 driver try changing to
either 173 or (via a ppa) 190. The 185 driver appears to be rather
buggy and crashes the eternal lands client nine times out of ten. The
other drivers work perfectly.

On my laptop (an Asus A3N with 855GM), last time I tried to install
Karmic, I've this problem of freeze (just after boot, sometimes with
kdm, sometimes in the few seconds of kde). I've downgraded to an old
release (8.10), no problem.

I ran into the same problem with Karmic Koala - 2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2. I
solved setting the PAL format via the mode option.
e.g.: xrandr --output TV --mode PAL (formerly was: xrandr --output TV
--set TV_FORMAT PAL)
Still working on this to refine the adjustment, but at least now I got
the colour!

Also wanted to add, going back to the lock dialog is what it does after

My experience is that Jaunty (9.04) is a quite good release and I would
probably fall back to this if I were you. In production environment I
prefer Hardy (8.04) which is a Long Term Support re

It happened again, and I confirm that killing the gnome-settings-daemon
helped also in 9.10.

Huh, I just found a very simple solution to my problem.

gconf-editor to set the key
-->desktop-->gnome-->peripherals-->touchpad-->disable_while_typing to false.
That easy :DDD

Hi Denis,
It would be helpful if you could test the two kernels from Geir in
comment #59 above. If your problem is the same as mine, 599 will work
without freeze and 600 will freeze.

I experience the same bug since upgrading to Karmic.
I'm running a Thinkpad laptop with an Intel GMA X4500 MHD graphics card.
(Let me know if you need more information on my system)
The problem only occurs if I'm using the touch pad. The built-in
trackpad shows no problems.

Made a tiny bit more progress, trying to get upstream wine bug re-opened
but they want to fob the blame onto X11 and ignore their own problems,
so chance of a quick solution is unlikely.
Summary of the wine problem as far as I can tell: badly behaved win32
exe programs will call CreateFontIndirect
