Adding a "vga=788", starts the fbdev driver and it will be used for the

Regarding the Forward button, I've thought about using the wheel button

Now it's fixed for me. After disconnecting VGA1 I can safely turn it off
and display stays intact. Only for brief moment at the top of the screen
is a black stripe. But after desktop refreshes it disappears and all is
fine.

(SIS_650) with karmic beta and see if the bug is still present. I'll report my

when I type export PM_DEBUG=true and then sudo pm-suspend, the lappie is waking
up.
echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace and then sudo pm-suspend, it works too.
But only sudo pm-suspend or typing the button, it doesn´t resume. I
tried with init 1, and it didn´t work too.

I would like to add that this issue has been around for me with every
release of Ubuntu up to and including Jaunty, on NVidia drivers up and
including the latest 185.
There is clearly no point in "file" 'ing a bug report here based on this
bug page alone. The issue could be with Nvidia and it is

As a VerticalMouse 3 user, I think this change is a step backwards.

In my case the test for video-modes failes too, but i'm not on apple but
ASUS x56TR notebook. Shoud i report different bug, or is this a general

I switched to metacity ( metacity --replace ), then connected the second
screen (yes, it works!).
When I try to get back to compiz (compiz --replace), then I get the
following error:
xset q doesn't reveal the location of the log file. Using fallback
