I figured out a (dirty) workaround at least for the SIS 66x/76x Users. Adding a "vga=788", starts the fbdev driver and it will be used for the xserver in the installation too.
I still recommend to fix the boot image Xorg server to recognise "xforcevesa", but at least this quick hack helps. ** Attachment added: "Xorg-fixed.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33975560/Xorg-fixed.log -- too old xorg server in 9.10 desktop install causes issues with forcevesa / safe graphics installation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/445881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
