I'm trying to transfer a list of names and email addresses from Open
Office Calc to Evolution email.
I'm converting to .csv - the file converts back OK to two columns when I
open it in Open Office, but when I import it into Evolution, the names
and emails are all in one field.
My settings are UTC

Our Volunteer Co-ordinator has returned to Uni, so I'm lumbered again.
Except now we have quite a few volunteers to deal with. I want to be
able to:
* keep their contact details, availability, and skills list
* search the list for availability and skills
* email those who meet the search requireme
I saw today that Micro Mart and Computer Active both feature Linux on
the front cover, seemed aimed at beginners or those who haven't tried it
before. Computer Active had Ubuntu 9.04 and another distro on the CD.

I've seen it in WHSmith, but at £7.99 I don't know how many buyers they
get. Especially as in my local WHS I have
I've used Brasero for CD burning until Jaunty - I can't update Brasero
in Jaunty without removing the default CD burner in Nautilus, but I'm a
bit nervous about messing with things that are built in to the release.
Is it something a newbie like me could do without wrecking my system
completely?

I see the official release date is April 23, St George's Day. I'm sure
it's a coincidence, or is this the year we should prepare to don our

OK, I've cracked ... send for the men in white coats.

Dumb question :)
Is there a difference between video podcasts and any other videos (eg
YouTube and similar)?

I'm finding more and more files that have duplicates - presumably backup
files, as they have a tilde in the file name. For example, index.html
and index.htm~
They don't show in Nautilus, but they do show in dialogue boxes such as
"open file", and in programs such as Filezilla.
I'm running 8.10, I

I've Stumbled it. It also says a lot about PC training courses - I know
they can't tailor a course for every student, but they don't seem to
offer stuff that will be useful for the average new user. I know my
widowed cousin asked about a course that was running locally, and was
told she was too old
In Synaptic, you can right-click the package and choose "properties" -
look on the "installed files" tab to see where they all are.
