Hi, sorry to take so long to answer, been a bit busy.
Its not the first time I have installed Ubuntu. I have installed 8.04
on a Windows XP machine, for dual boot. It isnt a recognised company
hardware, its made by a company called Hi-Grade. As far as doing a
Ctrl+Alt+1 I cant do that because

I think you need to also start apport by running "sudo
/etc/init.d/apport st

They should only have been closed, if a triager asked you a question
which you didn't reply to. Can you link me to the reports in question?
