The current media implementation and use of GStreamer is v 0.10

the new hardware decoding GStreamer plugins, which will only work with

Hi David,
The current stable release of Ubuntu Touch (13.10) does not officially
support playback of theora, daala or opus video/audio. The only supported
codecs at this time are h.264 and mpeg4 for video, and mp3, aac, wav and
flac for audio. We should be adding more codec support in the future.
What was the cause of the issue after all?

Those video players are not integrated into the hardware video

media-hub for HTML5 apps is more reliable support in our Oxide integration.
It's something that we've been working towards, but it's been really tricky
to do it right and still maintain compatibility with the way the APIs keep

Aswin,
Yes, take a look at the QtSensors 5.0 AccelerometerSensor object. You
can instantiate this and get raw accelerometer data. As a QML example,
I have tried this as a simple test while I was implementing the Qt
plugin for it.

Daniel,
I would be greatly interested in collaborating with you on this if you
are interested. Are you trying to create a music player, or the music
player that ships with Ubuntu Touch by default? If you want to produce
the default app, let's collabor

Hi everyone,
I am pleased to share with you who are interested in all things media
related the opportunity to join, collaborate and discuss on a mailing

It includes things like:

Hi all,
I thought I'd share some thoughts on how the YouTube app developers
can quickly get started in playing back YouTube videos straight from
the source. I'm a software engineer working for Canonical that is

Daniel,
One thing I haven't seen you mention yet is if you want to do a
separate community music app, or if you want to participate in the
default music app that will ship with Ubuntu Touch?
