CONFIG_CMDLINE_EXTEND with something like make menuconfig, sorry i didnt

I created the mentioned file, rebooted, but now I got these errors, and
screen is still black:
...
I/ServiceManager( 2361): Waiting for service sensorservice...
I/ServiceManager( 1749): Waiting for service SurfaceFlinger...

dmesg [1]. logcat [2]

Thanks, that worked!
Audio seems to be working as well, just at full volume without any ability
to lower the volume.
The camera is also running fine (with a little hassle) and video also
records audio.

That was indeed the problem, I managed to get adb after a while.
Now with your hack Ubuntu reboots into graphics just fine!

And what about my earlier dmesg without the patch? There were no errors

So, again, without the patch: [1][2]
With patch: [3][4]

I'm arguing here that Canonical made a mistake by shunning the Edge as a

Further, I think it is unwise on Canonical's part to "Abandon" the

unsuccessful. Cano

You seem to have missed the point entirely. If you want an Ubuntu Phone,
then there are phones already available on the market. Supported models
now, are LG Nexux 4 and Samsung Nexus Galaxy. But there are many more
unofficial ports.
The reason for the Ubuntu Edge was never to win the market or any

I didn't miss the point (Canonical is making an erroneous assumption about the
market--let me explain). I am aware of all the Ubuntu "supported models"
available on the market. But frankly, I don't like any of them.
The Edge design is unlike any of the Android phones (AKA supported models) on
No, you missed the point entirely. This is a "halo device." Whether it
sells a single one is entirely irrelevant. Its purpose is not to sell in
large quantities, and it isn't meant for people who are short on cash. This
is a device meant for people who want the very best and have the money to

Okay, now I think I got it right, but still, it sits on samsung logo.
Sorry if I screwed up again.
Is it ok BTW that menuconfig changes some other stuff in my defconfig file
when I only edited the cmdline option?

I haven't read anything insulting from your mails. :)
I can understand your point of view, but any "low-spec" phone that
Canonical could push would still be a lot more expensive than anything
comparable that's already on the market. So if price is an issue, then it's

Thanks :)
Canonical's influence on the Edge resulted in a great looking/sized/arranged
phone. Hopefully Canonical will exert influence in a Huawei designed phone. I'm
just reading a lot that makes it sound like Canonical will not bother with
hardware design at all unless the Edge succeeds. Yet
