Ideally, couldn't the install script for xserver-input-wacom add the
necessary stuff to xorg.conf itself?
I imagine that would lead to really ugly xorg configuration files,
though, as we see with the old Screens & Graphics tool. I guess what
we need is a magical, open-ended and centralized tool fo

I finally got a couple of answers explaining the situation. Then I tried

Please can I lodge a request for an update to the ubuntu package for
python-twisted. The ubuntu package is at version 2.5, which twisted is

It appears the packages in hardy are broken. When you click the
settings icon..it does nothing. Is this just not implimented? Or was

Dear Ubuntu Developers,
The GPL-3 licensed [http://wiki.debian.org/DebImg debimg] project aims
to create a replacement for debian-cd written in Python, able to create
basic netinst disks in less than 5 seconds.
debimg uses a dependency resolver written in Python, which is able to
resolve the de

Elisa is already in hardy. Just apt-get it or use synaptic. It looks
really cool...basically a gtk/gstreamer rip off of apple's stuff. But
it's nice and surprisingly smooth (for the 2 minutes I played with it)

Neither your Mail nor this blueprint has a link to what "Elisa" is.
Is is public viewable / downloadable in some form already?

On the topic of necessary things disappearing from xorg.conf...scrolling
on touchpads is still broken. I've gotten used to using real scrollbars
since I've been on Hardy for two months, but I really doubt anyone will
be pleased about the regression. I can't find the bug at the moment,

That would be really cool. We are thinking on what's the best way to
integrate Elisa in

Hi,
We would like to discuss the integration of a default media center solution
in the Ubuntu desktop at the Ubuntu Developer Summit for the Intrepid Ibex.
The goal is to give Ubuntu users an out of the box, easy to use,
well integrated and appealing multimedia application allowing them to enjoy

xorg.conf before gutsy, because autoconfiguration *should* work. It
turned out to just introduce a regression for tablet PCs and testing and
reporting the bug didn't help. Please reintroduce the relevant
