Summarizing: the xorg.conf section related to wacom tablets was removed from xorg.conf before gutsy, because autoconfiguration *should* work. It turned out to just introduce a regression for tablet PCs and testing and reporting the bug didn't help. Please reintroduce the relevant configuration in default xorg.conf because testing showed that removing those was a breakage, or explain why we should be happy with current situation, that is, to configure a tablet pc an ordinary user has to manually edito xorg.conf, and in feisty everything worked out of the box.
I see Sebastian's reply and this is my impression too, however will this problem be solved or is it better to just stay broken until autoconfiguration works (a la microsoft, one might say) ? https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wacom-tools/+bug/188787 -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
