Just chiming in, Feisty+1 will almost certainly *not* be LTS. It has
not been decided yet when the next LTS will be released.

Hi,
A request to devels as well as anyone with free time monitoring the list :)
Can someone who is testing feisty on a machine with a winmodem test
whether the scanmodem tool is working there and report their experience
at the *bug report*? Bug report at https://launchpad.net/bugs/42454
It's not
Then try it running in the single CPU mode. I had same problem in
latest stable and development version, though. Let's stop this talk
because it's off topic mailing list.

releases. If it's alrea

Hello all,
first, I'm new to this list. Being a long term Mac and IRIX user,
Kubuntu ist the first Linux I managed to get running on my G965-

physical hard disk, upgraded to feisty and the 2.6.20 kernel

Hi Scott,
funny enough, I was looking on the 13_smoother_fading patch today
because it didn't work well on my machine (xinerama setup) but it didn't
have anything to do with the bug you are referencing. I've uploaded a
revised patch on launchpad:

Launchpad #49221 is a high priority bug caused by the 13_smoother_fading
patch. I will describe the cascade of issues that triggers it. Next, I
will enumerate some user workarounds. Finally, I will explain why I'm
not fixing the issue:
It is well known gnome-session is in need of a refactoring due

I suspect that if you did that, two things would happen:
1. People would complain that a lot of the apps were out of date.
2. Developer motivation would be very low for the LTS releases, as it's
only bugfixing, with nothing new and interesting. Co

Do we use avahi for network printer discovery? How do I invoke a scan
for network printers via avahi? How is a GUI (GNOME/KDE) user supposed
to set up a network printer on a Ubuntu box?

I had problem with my SATA too, but not with a ASUS board. My solution
was "disable HT". After that everything goes smoothly.
Since this discussion is not related to development, you should ask it
in users mailing list. Thank you.

Hi,
I would like to start a discussion about adopting the XS-Vcs-*
debian/control field in our packages. The value of the field should be
the location of the version control system used to maintain this
