I upgraded from 9.1 to 10.04 two days ago, and now every time I try to shut
down the message "AT SPI registry not responding. I've had a look on the net
and the common fix seems to be start up programs or assistive technologies .
The registry does not appear on my start up
answer at bugzilla.gnome.org was:
"hmm, I would report it to launchpad then, since it looks like a PolicyKit or
ubuntu issue.

To my research it seems that the original drivers "ipw3945" have been replaced
by newer "iwl3945"?
Maybe thats the cause?

as root via sudo.

I also can not reproduce it manually. It just happens now and then.
Is there anything I can do when the error appears to help solving it?
I can not go to the menu and report the bug from within the application as the
menu does not exist then.

Unfortunatly I can not provide steps to reproduce the problem. It sometimes
appears while most of the time it works as expected.
The problem occures the most in Pidgin Messenger application. Yet there are
other applications with this problem too, like Libre Offic
Not to be rude, but changing importance to "low" is highly questionable.
Resizing a window is a main task, if it wasn't then you would not need windows
anyhow.
Also a lot of people have this problem.
Please rethink this desicion as it is a highly annoying bug.

same thing when using "eclipse".
I can confirm this.
If i use eclipse that error appears on shutdown otherwise not.
They reported the case to the eclipse developers as far as i remember.
