I believe Apple has changed the hash algorithm in the new >2.0
firmwares, which means that we won't be able to sync music with anything
else than itunes unless ones downgrade or someone figures out the new
algorithm. I've been using itunes over vmware myself.

On Sony SZ3, I get the same problem where the wifi network is detecetd, tries o
connect but times out. If I try the solution from Reinhard Tartler, NM
connects fine!

manually dim the monitor but the applet doesn't work, neither does the
automatic dimming when I unplugged the laptop. When I do so, I can see

Couldn't laptop-mode be added to the init but still check is it is set
to "true" in the /etc/default/acpi-support file? This way at least,

My bad, the internal mic actually works, one just needs to add the
Recording tab (Preference > Capture), and then unmute it. This seems
fixed for me then on Sony SZ680.
By the way, I added these lines to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf

Having the same crash here using scorched3D, screen content still visible, no
distortion, hard lock, keyboard doesn't even work. I'm using Hardy with latest
intel driver, DRI is enabled, compiz enabled, using

To use laptop-mode, one needs to enable it in /etc/default/acpi-support.
Then, when one unplugs the AC, laptop-mode gets enabled properly.
However, if the laptop boots up unplugged, laptop-mode never gets
started.
This is fixed on my Sony SZ3 laptop by entering this command:

hi Sam the bug affecting you is a little similar to mine but only
happens infrequently. and has not happened for a wile but has now taken
to hiding behind the blue-tooth applet icon lol.. my original symptoms
were..the applet seemed to hang trying to find wifi signal the swirl of
the applet stops
after researching this bug on-line it is comon to all 7720g with a sub-woofer
on all Linux platforms.
i have not found any solutions.

I use the an Nvidia hdmi drive thats what I found out.
i had installed also the backports...no change-
itÅ› still nothing availeble on sound devices in pulseaudio.

this annoying bug also affect my laptop but the voice plays.. the
warning messages go away when the blue tooth dongle is attached tho

Oooh, I'm not sure. If there is a default for Ubuntu 10.04 update manager,
that's what I'm using. I apologize, I'm a complete Linux noob, learning
slowly in my spare time. Is there a way to get that info?

icon still vanishes but can be brought back by right clicking on the
panel selecting panel properties, then ticking the box ( show hide
buttons ) long enough for the change to take place, the icon re-appears
then UN-tick the box..

hi yeah installed the backport linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic,
rebooted .. first there was no sound at all, then i did a update got the sound
but no bass through speaker .. i found in alsamixer alot of extras tho
