I can confirm this bug. It happens only on amd64 arch, as far as I can
see. The libempathy12 version is 0.23.1-1 on the repository, where it
should be 0.23.3-1ubuntu1. I don't really know what one should do about
it - maybe contact the responsible for the package?

I can confirm this bug, on a Pentium M 1.5 system.
Being unable to boot the server kernel is not something you would expect.
Research returned that this has to do with PAE and/or VT.
Knowledgeable kernel hackers should confirm this.

What happened was that the new version hit the unstable repositories only after
gutsy.
As you can see from the changelog now that it is fixed. Sorry.
This upload will in practice only reduce the debdiff between debian and
ubuntu.
