Similar problem here, but I have the 32 bit version installed (still
having numerous problems trying to get Flash working with 64 bit so I
gave up!).
Will attempt a similar 'fix/workaround' by making a link to firefox32.

I 'bit the bullet' and decided to remove consolekit (console kit daemon)
with the following warnings:
sudo aptitude remove consolekit
The following packages will be REMOVED:

Need to get 0 B of archives.

Further to my previous comment #16, I rebuilt my PC recently and opted
to stick with 10.04 LTS. It's incredibly annoying that I'm still getting

I'm STILL affected by this bug, on different media (External HDD powered
