I've also got an Avantree DG80 as a workaround and I can confirm it
works with my Trekz OpenComm headset. It supports sounds up to 8 kHz
(corresponding to mSBC with a 16 kHz sampling frequency) with the mic
enabled, while anything connected directly to Linux bluetooth only goes
up to 4 kHz in HSP/H

After a period using fedora, I just tested this again using a fresh

To clarify the situation a bit I made the following tests:
With no compiz activated:
$ glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: Yes
$ sudo glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: Yes
$ glxgears
2844 frames in 5.0 seconds = 568.693 FPS
2986 frames in 5.0 seconds = 597.155 FPS
2900 frames in 5.0
I tested with glxgears on an Eee PC 901 with GMA 950, INTEL_BATCH was enabled
on both systems:
Gutsy Gibbon: 950 FPS
Intrepid Ibex: 500 FPS
I can confirm that the frame rate goes up in Intrepid Ibex (Gutsy Gibbon
untested) when glxgears is behind another window or minimized.

same error message anywhere in that thread, and the other bug is quite
old. My problem started in Intrepid.
Here are some additional details I can think of.

Interesting, this indeed seems to be user-specific problem. Logging in with a
fresh user works fine. I already tried disabling all kind of stuff, like things
being loaded through .profile and .bashrc, disabling desktop effects, to no
avail.
Any idea how I can further track down which setting or
WTF? I renamed .kde/ and logged in again, and that indeed fixed the problem.
Then I moved the directory back to .kde, logged in again, and now all my kde
settings are gone??? F***!

I am expecting from Kubuntu the same behaviour as in Ubuntu. If Ubuntu can

I can confirm this problem. I am however using POP (with Local Folders), so it
doesn't seem to be limited to IMAP.
However, I only get this problem when starting thunderbird with alltray.

insufficient memory problem (tested with 3GB of RAM), but 8500 lines can

One possible explanation could be that Ubuntu 9.04 uses old ntfs-3g driver.
At least NTFS-3G Version 2009.3.8 is recommended.
