However, after disabling ESD and alsa-utils (trying to debug another problem) I
lost sound.

The problem seems to be related to the number of files inside a torrent.
Torrents with like <5 files don't cause any problems, whereas torrents
with more files make transmission crash.

it was not a bug, but a plain user error...i aplogoize.
Here's the solution:
on your Terminal Services Client, make sure you have ticked the checkbox
'Enable window manager's key bindings' under the PERFORMANCE tab.
It was the only thing missing, now everything
to log in for my connection manually. So the system is disconnected
for some hours a day normaly.)

[Hardy][wine][regression] Segmentat
Worked fine in Hardy. Please explain why the incompatible combination
EggSMClient with gnome-session 2.24 was included in Intrepid in the first
place, and how regression / beta tests did not catch this.

It may have to do with the inclusion of the new rt2500 driver in the kernel at
the time the bug started to appear.
The behavior vanishes (= workaround) if I do the following commands before and
after the hotsync.
sudo ifdown wlan0
... then hotsync
sudo ifup wlan0

This bug appeared on my PC just after the upgrade to Intrepid.
I have never seen it in hardy before the upgrade. Clear case of a regression
problem.

Problem for me is resolved. Probable cause in my case: during upgrades, and/or
enabling/disabling sound service, "front" setting became very low. As I did non
recognise that double-clicking the speaker icon opens a panel with more
settings, I have searched for a couple of hours before I located

Cause is in the upgrader of the release where the jump is in the graph.
Only somebody with access to the raw data can find the exact date, and thus the
Ubuntu upgrade that has caused it.
Who has access to this data, and thus can help debug ?
