Kubuntu 32 bit, upgrade from Natty to Oneirc through do-upgrade.
In contrary to previous posts it seems that I have lost 2 databases during
upgrade from Natty to Oneiric.
After upgrade folder /usr/lib/postgresql/9.1/main/base contains only 3
databases - template0, template1, postgres.

My typo, I had looked for my lost databases in folder
/var/lib/postgresql of course, not in /usr/lib/postgresql.
i tried the following older kernels whith fglrx 8-11 aka 8.552 and all gave the
same fault as in the original bug report from pat:

2.6.24-16-generic
2.6.24-19-generic
i used the original amd download and fixed the makefile myself.
the test procedure was:
1 install kernel image
maybe its the new ubuntu-kernel, which causes the problems

Anyway, the problem still exists in the latest ubuntu kernel, and I know
exactly why.
It is udev that has an unfinished implementation regarding SAS drives.

same problem with Ubuntu 14.10 64x when use matlab to load lots of data
for training. It doesn't kill it after a couple of minutes, it takes

Hi all!
I experience this problem every day. Cellphone connections is great but
data is not available, although within the cellphone settings I can see
the Edge symbol. On top bar the data indicator is left empty.
Putting the phone in flight mode, and back solves the problem.

I had this issue as well, through ALL of the 5.x kernels. Tried everything
mentioned in the thread here, but nothing worked other than going to 4.15
kernel.
This gave me suspicions it was related to something with the UEFI handoff to
OS, so I looked for BIOS updates and sure enough there was
Upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 LTS

The upgrade stopped when installing the wvdial package. An interrupt
with forced the program to continue but it could not finish
successfully: No cleanup and automatic reboot. Booting the old kernel in
recovery mode was possible.
I suggest
you have to:
remove all libqt4* packages and libqtcore4, libqtgui4
turn off backports repo
reload index, install stellarium and other packages that was deleted by
dependencies
lock libqt4-core and libqt4-gui versions via Synaptic.
then you can enable backports repo again

After fresh 8.04.1 install, installed ubuntu-restricted-extras which among
others installed packages java-common, sun-jave6-bin, sun-java6-jre,
sun-java6-plugin. Upon checking, OpenOffice has no JRE installed
(Tools-options-Java), even though the box is tick
I have a lot of launchers on top panel, so decreasing resolution won't
let them fit into panel. When using something fullscreen in Wine, all
applets are shifted or messed up.

I got the same error trying to install mysql5.0 on ubuntu 8.04 on an usb-stick

This has just happened to me, hopefully freeing up some space will do

of a warning about running out of space before it happens.

I have the above mentioned problem with my Inspiron 1420 too. I read a
lot of posts about the editing of xorg.conf file, but I gave up
modifying it because I think this problem should be solved some day via
a GUI interface. For now, I unchecked "Enable mouse clicks with
touchpad" under System ->
Connect automatically means this connection to be applied as soon as possible
after startup, without your assistance.
System settings means this connection is system-wide, not user's, so it is
accessible and can be turned on by any user, or even before any user login.

I installed Konqueror on my Ubuntu 8.04 desktop and logged on within it.
I found myself logged in on the Bugs section. I jumped to both the
Launchpad Home and Answers sections and to my surprise within Konqueror
both retain
A few more new results: I was running Firefox 3.0.0.4, but not yet
logged on when I started up Konqueror and successfully logged on. I

default dvdnav libs in Intrepid. I do agree dvdnav support should be
built into the Ubuntu mplayer.

Confirmed on x86 system also. Opening teaed, then opening a file in it
works, but opening file with teaed results in:
