I got the same error trying to install mysql5.0 on ubuntu 8.04 on an usb-stick and found the following thread: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/131976 So i tried 'sudo aa-complain mysqld' and got mysql finish its config and the server running. I don't know if this workaround is the right solution for the problem.
