Yes, I am having trouble getting a trace too, since nautilus is not
crashing stricto sensu, it is running forever eating all CPU...
So I followed the instructions given on the wiki for debugging, but I
couldn't get any trace. Here is what I get in the end :

i810... I can't see that on my system (intel 945GM/GMS/GML) : the only
really noticable difference I see is that with intel driver I cannot
play video !

compiz settings / general options / desktop size, I had :
horizontal virtual size : 4
vertical virtual size : 1

Hi,
I want to mention the problem still occurs on Gusty... In fact I didn't
encounter this bug in Feisty, but since I made a fresh Gusty install,
every time I log in a second time, I get this 'Notification Daemon Error
: notifications won't work error'.
Other symptoms are that my desktop settings
Well, saying the xv problem is solved is quite optimistic...
The workaround the said patch implements is _not to use_ xv but gl instead. So
it kind of solves the problem for totem when using gstreamer, but in no way
does it solve the problem with intel + xv. Just try any other video player, and
I can confirm the bug is still present with version 0.4.0-0ubuntu1 of the
package.
It will import some photos but fail on others with "A null value was found
where an object instance was required" error message.

I can confirm the problem (using sun 1.6.0 jdk).
Eclipse is quite unusable on Gusty for me, it will crash within the first
minute of use.
Also note that running Eclipse 3.3 Europa downloaded from eclipse.org

I reinstalled my system (previously under Gusty) in with Hardy beta. The bug is

open file hard limit is set to 1024 for all users.
Trying to change it to a higher value works only for root, an error
message is thrown for other users.
settings in limits.conf are ignored despite pam_limits.so in all the
right pam.d/ files.

In latest Karmic, attaching a big text file (xml in my case) in a _new_
mail will produce the same symptoms.
1. create a new mail
2. attach a big xml file (1.7Mb in my case)
evolution eats all memory and chokes.
I had to tarbz the file to be able to send it with evolution !

I also notice the Trashcan is not such a good idea either, as I would expect it
to be a recoverable deletion, like it is the case on the desktops.
Also notice that some trashcans have the recycle symbol, that resembles the
refresh icon, and can lead to bad mista

What happened to this bug? Is it still being addressed? I'm also experiencing
the same problem and the solutions above don't work for me :(
