Hi, I just found this bug by just googling for "kernel 5.3.0-46
problem", funny...
I got a very similar behaviour this week when I updated to kernel
5.3.0-46-generic and IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate:
Just by scrolling the editor by the scrollbar handle a bit up and down,
my PC freezes up for a few seco

If not, I'll install IntelliJ on my second notebook (which has kernel 5.4).

The issue I am having seems similar to this:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1833161
It is definitely an issue after the NVIDIA driver installation.
Headphones and built-in speakers stop working. Only the HDMI audio
works. There was a small kernel update from 5.4.0-26-ge
A couple of additional discoveries.
The kernel update made no difference.
The output of

before and after the NVIDIA driver install does change:

I found the following:

Based on that I edited
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
and added this to the end of the file:

Serge, it works for mounting. You are right.
However, when switching off / rebooting the computer, it hangs for ~2 minutes.
I think this is because OS first switches off the network interface and then
tries to unmount the remote drive. This unmounting obviously times out because

So I tried it, installed 16.04.1 fresh, updated to 16.10 but I'm still
