I had the same issue in the spring. It seemed to go away by mid to late
summer. Now that I have updated to Intrepid, Evolution 2.24.1, it is
back.
I am using the exchange back end. This problem cannot be fixed with the
Send/Receive button, nor by highlighting different folders and coming

It opened a browser with fields that authorized my computer. I completed and
submitted the form, and got a success page. Right clicked the UbuntuOne icon in
the tray, hit connect, and it did.

I used to have what appeared like a freeze on a 1GB RAM netbook without
a SWAP partition. The problem was not a lock up, but a freeze that only
lasted while foxmarks (now xmarks) was syncing.
One solution was to set xmarks to only sync manually. The other
solution was to set up a swap partition
