[Bug 1821641] Re: [HP Elitebook 840 G1] Screen is upside down on 19.04 daily

2019-04-09 Thread Woodcarver
The HP Elitebook 840 G1 is a regular laptop, so the accelerometer is not frequently used. Even when it's functioning properly like in 18.04, it can accidentally rotate 90 degrees when you tilt it slightly. You would never use this unit tilted 90 degrees or upside down, so if it's possible to entire

[Bug 1821641] Re: [HP Elitebook 840 G1] Screen is upside down on 19.04 daily

2019-04-13 Thread Woodcarver
Absolutely, you mentioned bug 1726160 in an earlier comment and it contained a functioning workaround - removing iio-sensor-proxy. The problem seems to originate from systemd mount matrix issues on HP laptops using the lis3lv02d accelerometer, however determining the status of the github issue (and

Public bug reported: On the 19.04 daily image (2019-03-24), the screen on my laptop is completely upside down, from the moment the GUI loads. This does not happen on 18.04 and 18.10. It appears to be an accelerometer issue since holding the laptop upside down flips the image to its correct orient

2019-03-30 Thread Woodcarver
I have now reverted all the way back to the kernel I use on 18.04 (4.15) and the issue still happens. The accelerometer position in both 18.04 and 19.04 (/sys/devices/platform/lis3lv02d/) read the same. Attached is a video of the moment when the flip occurs, just before the desktop loads. Sorry f

[Bug 1822474] [NEW] Power button in top right corner not working during installation

[Bug 1822476] [NEW] User asked whether to erase internal drive before choosing installation drive

2019-03-31 Thread Woodcarver

[Bug 1822476] Re: User asked whether to erase internal drive before choosing installation drive
