This time I have a possibly working fix, which is too easy to be true: just
install "usbmount".
You then get two drives: /media/WALKMAN and gphoto2://[usb:002,013]/
Just in case you have tried too many options, so none of your external
drives get mounted automatically. Reinstall "hal" and everyth

Sorry! The strange thing is that it worked for me that specific day
(5-5), but now I also returned to my original gphoto2.monitor.

I can confirm the bug with Sony NWZ-A828. It also crashes the drive-
applet in some cases, but that's another bug.
In Ubuntu 8.10 the device connected via normal USB (it was shown such in
the screen). In 9.04 the device connects via MTP. That's why the
temporary solution by Jack Bakunin works well
Today this bug got fixed. It connects via MTP in Rhythmbox, but does not
show up in the "disc mounter"-applet (in 8.10 I could use it as an USB-
disc). But thanx anyway for the quick response!

With 9.10 alpha 6 I could not install Ubuntu on the second hdd (sdb)
without problems. When rebooting after the installation, I got a Grub
error 15. I could solve it by switching the first and second hdd in the
