When I convert from HEX to BIN it tends to drop the trailing zeros. For
exampel D4 should be something like 11010100 but it returns 110101. The
fun part is that converting it back* it returns D4 again. So internally

Yes, the patch to reduce CPU resources was not successful in my case
(uses 50% CPU then slowly progresses up to 100%, over a period of on
eminute or so), but a nice side effect is that the graphs now scroll
smoothly, cool ! :-)

Looks like it's fixed, Nautilus doesn't hang anymore on this folder.
It doesn't show pictures of the thumbnails anymore though.

I would like to revive this bug and a "me too" ;-)
I regularly have to find out what package a particular file is in (when
trying to install pre-compiled programs, and they often complain of
missing files, so I must figure out what packages they are in, in order
to make the program happ
As I said, the problem is my /boot partition (the one that shows up as
"205.6 MB Media"), that shows up even though I have not mounted it (as
can be seen in the files attached), because I don't use it anymore. I
created that partition years ago, when I wanted to experiment with a
stand alone /boot

I have a guess about what the mentioned customization problems might be.
I noticed today that when the fixed width font is changed in the Gnome
settings the terminal font for synaptics is still monospace. Is that
what you meant, dmoyne?
