I've done some testing on i865G and I found that Xorg locks up with UXA
(enabled manually by Option "AccelMethod" "UXA" in xorg.conf) when "drm" and
"i830" kernel modules are not loaded - they are not loaded at startup time.

I've get the same problem today - Kubuntu Jaunty with newest updates. I've used
bootchart and bootchartgui from 2009.03.31 on this system and it had no

This extension to bash would be a good thing make some network scripting
as it's possible in other (non-debian) distributions. There are at least
few scripts which use this extension. For example - google console

It's very annoying that the bug with file receiving over obex protocol
on bluetooth doesn't work in Gutsy. Why haven't you backport
kdebluetooth from hardy to gutsy? It's over two months from this bug
report. If you don't want to backport the hardy version you can just

The same with Polish characters. It seems that the console displays two
characters (not text or Polish characters - just two other ASCII
symbols) when it has to display just one as UTF-8.

Oscar, are you sure you don't have flashplugin?
Maybe some files were keept after the package was removed.
Look at directories:
/usr/lib/firefox/plugins/ and /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
for flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so files.
Do you have 16bit display?

Do you have 16bit display?
If yes then try to change it to 24bit or try that command:
XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 firefox

I experience the same problem with Kubuntu Feisty after upgrade from
Edgy. Some of the Polish characters are visible as rectangles just like
on the screenshot from Breezy. That's with the default fonts: Serif and
Sans Serif and many others - I had to change fonts to Lucida Sans or
some others, whic
