I forgot to mention that I have this problem in 32-bit architecture - P4 with HyperThreading enabled. My system is Kubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 (with all updates) - (2.6.15-26.46 and 2.6.15-26.47). All previous kernels had this problem, too.
