I am following other forums on which no one has gotten the VX-1000
camera and microphone to work at the same time. I am running the most
current 64-bit version of Ubuntu 9.10. With a little tweaking, my
camera now works. I have never gotten the mic to work in Ubuntu,
despite much tinkering wiith
I agree that fixing this bug should be of high importance, since it is

tried it with 2.6.33 about a week ago and failed. See

of both Brasero and GnomeBaker on Ubuntu 9.10. I have a new low-end HP desktop
with a 16x DVD-/+RW drive, and I am using DVD-R media. I am just trying to burn
1 large (4GB) file to a data DVD.

This bug has been present on my Karmic amd_64 setup from the start. It
seems to affect most NYTimes videos, though most YouTube videos come out
clean.

I repeated the 20100712 patch, make, make install, sudo rmmod gspca_sonixj. On
sudo modprobe gspca_sonixj I got...

I'm running Karmic. Following your instructions in #12, I got the patch.
At the terminal, I issued the command patch -p2 < 16_use-
synchronous_notifications.patch from ~/gnome-settings-
daemon-2.28.1/debian/patches>. The command failed because it didn't
know which file to patch.

activated Default preference.
Re: #43. Karmic was my first (and last) Ubuntu install. Since mid-2009, a
pattern has emerged:
a) Release software filled with regressive bugs.
b) Trivialize complaints.
c) Mark bugs as too old
Can anyone advise what we need to do to get this bug confirmed so that
