installation, the VM needed to be completely turned
off not restarted as this would cause problems with X.
Once booted into the new VM, VirtualBox Guest Additions refused to
install the Xorg modules (see VBAdditionsXorg screenshot).

I haven't had any problems with the most recent releases. Unfortunately, I
chucked that particular motherboard and CPU, so I can't test that
configuration anymore. But I think Ubuntu's use of UUIDs has pretty much
made it a non-issue.

I solved my problem, disabled xinerama and used Nvidia TwinView. No more
issues. from my perspective this is a problem in the buggy xinerama code.

I recently updated hardy to intrepid and had the gdmsetup not save any
settings. After reading here, the first thing I did was copy everything
in /etc/gdm/gdm.conf into /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom and it worked. Not
sure what is going on, but I thought I would let everyone know what

I am pretty sure, that this is the same bug! Konqueror always crashes on
sites with much flash! One video from youtube is not a problem, but many
flash elements are! I tried Firefox on of the sites and it crashes, too!

I can confirm that modelines in xorg.conf are also ignored in Intrepid
64-bit. I supplied a modeline for my Toshiba 65HM167 but it was
ignored. Real bummer because my TV has a decent bit of overscan that
can't be adjusted on the TV's side, so I need to do it from within
Linux.

it asked me for a password, but i couldn't enter text!
I was updating (update manager) when my computer froze before i got the
error.

I patched the psmouse driver and rebuilt the psmouse module. It loads and
detects Sentelic touchpad fine. With the modified driver loaded, the
configuration utility works fine.

suspended it while power was plugged. Then I removed the plug inserted

The wired port works on 2.6.27-9. It gives the following dmesg | grep 8169
when booted without cable connected:

Perhaps the xserver should not advertise the x-video extension when the
virtual width is >2048? After all x-video won't work.

I can confirm what Suzan (above) advises, Kino would crash every time on
opening but after removing the Kinoplus plugins package Kino would start
normally.
