Ok, this may not be a high priority bug, but after 10 months, the bug is
still there?
FWIW, I also use tsclient (so as client, to connect to a windows
machine) and it may be related to the mouse keys switching on, but its
hard to find a pattern, and it occurs even when tsclient is not running.

Having a notification is not a solution. Its a useful idea for people who
actually want to use mousekey, but I bet the large majority doesn't and just
wants to see this bug fixed.
Its interesting almost everyone reporting this bug uses VNC or similar, so I
concur the bug seems to be related to it.

No its not the same issue. I think. It worked under gutsy until the
gnome bluetooth manager app was added. Now I can see the mouse in that
app, it is correctly named, and when I use the mouse, it is connected

testing, I finally have found a remarkable pattern:
- After booting, It will suspend and resume 4 (or 5 I am not entirely sure)
times in a row without problems
- the next resume (5th) I end up with a black

increasing "IDE drive strength" in the BIOS cured all my woes.

Thanks for the tip. Installing kernel 2.6.31-14 indeed fixes the resume issue.
Unfortunately, it also breaks compiz (getting all sorts of graphical corruption
on my radeon 9500) and worse, it doesnt work with my wifi card, so its not a
workable solution for me.

I think the only sensible conclusion is that your drive _is_ failing.
I guess the 4hr read test didnt produce errors because the drive can still read
but has trouble writing. Either that or the samsung utility is useless. But its
more than a stretch to assume the same bug affecting pali

Im marking this as confirmed.
Its clearly related to our audio card + pulse audio + recording and its
definitely a bug as recording is impossible with any app, whether it is Skype,
gnome-sound-recorder or anything else. CPU utilisation goes through the roof
and the recording fails.

Same problem here. Worked fine on karmic, ever since Lucid alpha 2
(first Lucid I tried) resume has been broken on my D600. Goes to sleep
fine, but gives a black screen and total freeze on resume.

When i lower my volume to 21%, all sound is muted. Alsamixer shows the
PCM channel as muted and the Master channel is set to zero. Increasing
the volume in pulse to 22% unmutes alsa's PCM, sets alsa Master channel

Some machines require nomodeset option to boot in to the GUI. For that
reason, the livecd has this option more or less (*) conveniently
accessible from the boot menu, using F6

/proc/cmdline, a simple dialogue and setting or not the same parameters in
