tex file specifies inputencoding utf8, thus it breaks on other systems,
too.
So to sum it up: The real bug is with kile which cannot autodetect the
encoding of files.

The current packages in Debian fixed the invocation of getnonfreefonts to
/bin/bash, which should propagate down to getfont.
If you have this problem, could you test it in the following way: Change
the shebang line in /usr/bin/getnonfreefonts from /bin/s

this should be fixed with current packages where pgf and beamer is split out
from the texlive packages. Don't know about Ubuntus status, but in Debian this
bug does not exist anymore.
