In my case the new mesa causes graphical glitches.
It happens in Unity and Gnome Shell both X.org and Wayland sessions.

20.2.6 which worked without such problems. Then July 2nd there was
upgrade to 21.0.3-0.
I'm not sure if the problems started with 21.0.1.
Also there are programs that work without graphical glitches.

I refreshed apt but there wasn't any update of mesa. So I enabled

Correction I didn't purge Synaptic and apt-xapian-index before. Now I
did and the crashes stopped.
The update-apt-xapian-index process is still heavy on resources but it
does work faster. It needs about one minute on my machine after
refreshing sources in Synaptic.

I've tried today's LiveCD image in qemu, VMware and VirtualBox none of

Actually I'm not sure if it should be marked as verification-done.
That's because as far as I can see it only resolves the problem for
Ubuntu default themes Ambiance and Radiance all the other 3rd party
themes still render incorrectly. Even Adwaita the default GNOME theme
renders incorrectly.

It might be related to Bug #1614116 which is fixed in Yakkety and should
be in next SRU.

So in Xenial Nautilus remembers some of its view settings but
unfortunately not all.
Canonical already patches this particular program so could we finally
get what is considered by most a sane and expected behaviour of every
file manager in the universe.

In the upstream bug report the dev wrote "patch which prevents crashes
on session close (at least the ones related to
evdns_getaddrinfo_cancel)". So it doesn't look like it covers this case.
Also Fedora users had the same crash in Fedora 21 and 22. Bug reports
have been closed because the releases
I tested it with keyboard indicator. No regressions observed.
