I have a new proposal for gutsy.
Remove current patch to kdebase. (revert to ubuntu19)
I have written a small KDE application that works as a wrapper around
kio_media_mounthelper.
It provides a progressbar, and shows up instantly.
This is a feisty package for the thing at:

This can be fixed by disabling "Network Status Daemon" from the 'Service
Manager' in 'System Settings -> Advanced'.
Uncheck the checkbox and hit the 'Stop' button.
You can also uninstall the 'networkstatus' package if you want to.

I am aware of the delay before the dialog is shown, I have not found a simple
way to make it appear earlier in the process.
The error message comes from the mediamanagers HALbackend. I won't touch that
code this close to release.
The funny thing is, It might as well unmount successfully even thou

That is the way it is supposed to work when the 'Configure Dolphin ->
Save view properties for each folder' checkbox is unchecked. Once you
enable this, you can start saving view profiles for each folder.
Otherwise it'll switch back to the default view configured in Configure
Dolphin -> Default Vi

This is the way konqueror works when "Save View Changes per Folder" is
not enabled.
I belive we should add:
[MainView Settings]
SaveViewPropertiesLocally=true
to /usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde-
profile/default/share/config/konquerorrc
That is kubuntu-default-settings.

I have this issue too. Current hardy on a Dell Latitude D620 with an
intel 945GM.
I upgraded to the xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.2.99.902-1 from debian
experimental.
That works flawlessly so far. No more graphical artifacts nor lockups for me.

- User PIM data is best stored in $HOME, migration to new machine/re-install
etc.
- Settings for the mysql-daemon can be optimized for akonadi.
- This setup does not require root-access. (Except on ubuntu hardy, where you
need to disable/modify apparmor).

hardy.
It did have a build-time dependency on a newer libpciaccess (if i recall
correctly).
Those packages installed directly from experimental without recompile.

I still can not logout from KDE4 and get

compositing.
However, I can not reproduce this display corruption with the i810 driver.
None of the packages at http://people.ubuntu.com/~bryce/bisect/ behaved
different from the default hardy package, for me. The only package I
I tested with the 2.6.22-14-generic gutsy kernel. No change. But, I also
tested the KDE4 Kubuntu hardy livecd and it had no issues. Starting to
think this is some leftover configs somewhere that broke from gutsy ->
hardy.
