I have verified this same situation with Intrepid Ibex, especially since
I do some work with icon themes and people keep reporting me this bug.
It would be important not to do any regressions in such a basic and easy

I'm using Kubuntu 8.10. In system settings (Regional and Language

I've done a new test: Tryed to connect using my login f...@superig.com.br
- didn't work. Then I tryed using another's person login
alaninhavi...@hotmail.com and worked fine!!! The same happened to
emesene. The log generated in the debug menu dialog is right above

Unfortunately can't reproduce that because is something that appeared on the
LCD monitor, not at painting of the images.

When download of ISO image was finished, the MD5 check said the image was ok.
When I burned the CD, the boot didn't worked after various attempts. So I used

I managed to get a temporary solution by installing OSS as described here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenSound
Now with OSS I get loud and clear sound, however the keyboard controls
are not working properly.

Hmmm Now I've just made a new clean OS reinstall. Installed all apt updates
available right now (including dconf-cli_0.26.0-2ubuntu3,
dconf-gsettings-backend_0.26.0-2ubuntu3 and dconf-service_0.26.0-2ubuntu3).
Followed straightly gnome's webpage instructions. It worked as expected! Then

Yeah, I may have made a mistake. I've made many tryes before. And It only
worked when I've undone all the procedures.
I guess editing greeter.dconf-defaults is much better too. It's safier and
easier to make automated config across many installations.

I have an Omen by HP 15-dc0015np. This device have the same insue but
only have a nvidia card, so doens't support to use intel video card to
fix temporaly backlight. The solution above doens't work on me and use
acpi_osi= or acpi_backlight=vendor or acpi_backlight=video or acpi_osi=!

I have the 15-dc0015np Omen by Hp and using the Ubuntu 18.04, this issue
appears when the battery is full and the charge is pluged. With the kernel 4.18
this bugs dissapear, but another one appears like this "Namespace lookup
failure, AE_NOT_FOUND". I have tested all grub options and doing acpi=
On 15-dc0015np Omen device, this occurs if i use kernel 4.15 and above. But
can't use kernels below, because they doesn't support many functions of my
device.

Christopher M. Penalver, that's not what I did, I just installed the
binary kernel 4.6.3-040603 and things are working as expected.
But I can try to apply the patch later this week (I'm on my main work
machine).

GDM will always show the users list - even those logged remotely.
There were a similar key for lightdm/unity that did work good.
